Colouring Contest for School Students


Open to school students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, this State-Level Art Colouring Contest aims to promote creativity in the field of visual arts and nurture a healthy spirit of competition among young learners. Through this initiative, we honour the artistic legacy of Oviyamani C. Kondiah Raju while encouraging children to express themselves through colour, imagination, and artistic engagement.

1. What is the level of the contest?
This is a Tamil Nadu State-Level Art Colouring Contest, organized as part of the 48th Memorial Celebration of Oviyamani C. Kondiah Raju.

2. Who can participate?
All school students from any recognized board across Tamil Nadu, from Pre-KG to Grade 12, are eligible to participate.

3. Can an individual register on their own?
No. Students must participate through their school, under the guidance of an appointed school coordinator.

4. What are the contest dates and deadlines?

  • Registration Opens: June 30, 2025
  • Registration Closes: July 14, 2025
  • Contest Date: Decided by each school, to be held on or before July 15, 2025
  • Prize Dispatch Date: All prizes and certificates will be sent to schools before August 1, 2025

5. What is the registration fee?
The fee is ₹200 per student.

6. How do we pay the registration fee?
The payment can be made by scanning the QR code provided or by contacting the Foundation’s Contest Coordinator:

7. What are the participation categories?
Participants will be grouped into the following six categories:

  1. Pre-KG, LKG, UKG
  2. Grades I, II, III
  3. Grades IV, V
  4. Grades VI, VII, VIII
  5. Grades IX, X
  6. Grades XI, XII

8. How do we access the colouring sheet?
Colouring sheets will be available for download on the Foundation’s official website. School coordinators must download the sheet corresponding to each category before the contest.

9. Where will the contest be conducted?
The contest will be held within the school premises under the supervision of the school coordinator.

10. What is the duration of the contest?
The contest duration is 1 hour.

11. Is this an online contest?
No. It is an offline contest conducted in the school by the coordinator. After completion, the entries must be sent by post to the Foundation.

12. What should students bring?
Participants should bring their own colouring materials.

  • Allowed: Crayons, Colour pencils, and Sketch pens
  • Only for Grades XI and XII: Watercolours are also permitted.

13. What do participants receive?

  • All participants will receive certificates and medals.
  • In each category, the Top 3 winners will receive a shield and certificate.

14. Are there any awards for the school or coordinator?

  • The School Coordinator ensuring the maximum number of participants will receive a memento.
  • The school with the highest number of participants and winners will be awarded a giant-sized shield in recognition of its support.

15. How do schools confirm participation?
Before conducting the contest, the school must contact the Foundation to confirm the number of participants and coordinate material download and submission logistics.
